CHURCH HISTORY
The Chapel of Prayer Independent Baptist Church was incorporated on November 19, 1956. We celebrated our 60th year in 2016. The first trustees were Merle Kleiber, James Buckner and Clay McClure. The document was witnessed by Ross F. Neal, George Muck, and Merle Kleiber on the 16th of November 1956. The attestation by the Secretary of State was on the 19th of November 1956.
Reverend Bailey came to the Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church in December 1984 and has been here for 31 years. He was called into the ministry in 1972 and has served the Lord for 44 years. Pastor was originally from Dubois, Pennsylvania, where he pastored the Community Bible Church In Rockton, just outside of Dubois. As our Pastor, he also teaches the Senior Saints class at 10am on Sunday mornings. He leads the 7pm Wednesday Evening Prayer and Bible Study.
Pastor Bailey is a Southern Gospel enthusiast. He sings solos, plays the guitar, and sings with The Chapel Quartet. Pastor Bailey has dedicated his life working for the Lord in many capacities. He continues to encourage others in the messages within the gospel music genre by welcoming gospel quartets to the church to present their music.
